Newborns

The safety and well-being of your precious little one is my number one priority and as such the following precautions are followed for every newborn session:

• Studio is full sanitised.
• All fabrics are washed.
• Sessions do not go ahead if any symptoms of illness are present.

Jade Clarke is fully vaccinated in accordance with the national immunisation schedule, including the updated Whooping cough and all the COVID-19 vaccinations.

A Newborn session is best photographed between 5-12 days old, as this is when they are still so sleepy and love to be all curled up. For this reason, it’s important to book your baby’s newborn photo session as early as your second trimester. I will then book you in on an approximate date according to your baby’s due date. Once baby is born, please let me know within a few days so I can schedule an exact date.

If you have missed this window, there is no need to worry as we can still create some beautiful images of this special time! Give me a call and we can tailor a session just for you.

My newborn sessions take place in my home studio in Duffy, ACT. I have a range of props, fabrics and outfits to help create those perfect images.  You are also welcome to bring along any special items such as family heirlooms that you would like to have included in your baby’s photographs. The studio features a kids area, change mat and comfortable couches to sit back and relax.

Don’t worry! Only around 5% of babies arrive on their due date – this is half the fun! I allow for plenty of flexibility when booking Newborn sessions by only booking a maximum of two of these per week. Your due date is treated as a tentative booking in my calendar, to allow room around the time the time your baby is expected. Once your baby arrives, I do ask that you get in touch with me within 24 hours by sending me a quick text or email. We can then schedule an appointment time for the following week.

Please wear cool comfortable clothing, as the studio will be warm to help keep baby asleep. It’s best to wear neutral or soft colours (tan, navy, dusty rose, grey, white, just to name a few), as we want to keep your baby as the star of the show. Keeping your family all with a similar tone is ideal and try to avoid busy patterns, visible licensed logos and brands. It is also a good idea to throw in a change of clothes in case of little accidents.

Newborn session fee is $200.

This session fee is due at the time of your booking to secure your date. This fee covers your photographer’s time and talent capturing your gorgeous images, as well as access to the studio wardrobe and assistance with planning your perfect shoot. Also included is one 8×10″ fine art matted print of your choice.

All our products are made in Australia using the highest quality paper for longevity and there is an A la cart menu and wall art collections to choose from.

At your Design Appointment we’ll go through pricing options in detail so you can choose what works best for you. Most families spend between $990-$2300, although there’s no minimum order or obligation to buy. Please make sure you discuss our pricing with your partner and all decision makers prior to booking.

For newborn sessions we just use your due date as a guide to make a tentative session date. This is then changed to suit once your baby arrives.

If your baby has already been born please just contact me to see if I have availability.

The session fee is the only payment requirement upon booking – this gets us started and confirms your date.

Your session fee is non refundable for change of mind but can be transferred to another suitable date in the case of a reschedule.

To ensure I offer the best service to my clients a limit of only 5 bookings per month applies, so please try and book your session as soon as possible.
