Susan’s Newborn Photos Experience!

Welcome baby Ronan!

Getting to know clients is one of the most important parts of the artwork making process. Establishing a connection enables clients to be relaxed and themselves, which really does help to get the personalities to come through in the images. This is why I strongly recommend  meeting with me or having a chat on the phone before you book to make sure we are a good fit and so that I can help you prepare for your session. It is important to me that when clients look back on their artwork that they remember and talk about the enjoyable experience they had during the session.

Many parents are often worried about the behaviour of their children, but I say go with the flow and let the images show who they are at that point in their life! Some of the best shots I’ve taken have been those special candid moments.

The relationships with clients is my favourite part of the job. I love it when they come back and I get to hear what they’ve been up to!

Here is Susan’s story and experience her family had with Jade Clarke Photography.

How has your experience been with Jade Clarke Photography?

We have had a really enjoyable experience with Jade Clarke Photography. From beginning to end, Jade has made the process easy and stress free.

How did Jade make you feel throughout your photography experience?

Jade made us feel really comfortable and relaxed during both the maternity and newborn photo sessions. She was so kind and easy going, yet always professional.

What was the highlight of your session?

The highlight of our photo sessions was watching how much Jade paid attention to detail. She is calm and takes a lot of care and pride in her work. Another highlight was how Jade followed our (rather, our four year old’s) lead. She captured some really playful moments.

Where did you choose to have your photos done and why?

We had our maternity photos taken at Blue Gum Point – we wanted some outdoor photos with water in the background. Jade suggested this location after trialling it a few days prior and we were so happy with the final product. Our newborn photos were taken in the studio so it would be warm, comfortable, and we could take our time to feed the baby when needed.

Why are family photos important to you?

It’s so important to us to capture the special moments in time for our family. Too often one of us is missing from our photos as we’re the one taking the photo. So it’s nice to have someone else behind the camera.

Do you have any tips for other families to help them prepare for their Newborn session?

Tips for the newborn session:
1. Don’t plan anything else for that day. Newborns can be unpredictable with feeds, so you don’t want to feel rushed to finish the session at a certain time.
2. Bring an outfit change in case of accidents
3. Have an idea of colour schemes before you arrive
4. Think about bringing along any special teddies, family heirlooms etc you would like to include in the photos.

Is there a story surrounding your pregnancy? Was it a breeze or did your little one make you work for it?

We’d had two consecutive miscarriages prior to this pregnancy, and the pregnancy itself came with some big challenges. Because of this and also as it is our second (and last!) baby, we really wanted to celebrate our daughter finally becoming a big sister and our family being complete.

Did you find out whether you were having a boy or a girl? Or was it a total surprise?

We didn’t find out if we were having a boy/girl. The best surprise you can ever have!

How did you come up with your baby’s name?

Our baby’s first name is of Irish origin (maternal side is Irish) and he is also loosely named after his Great Grandpa. His middle name is the same as his dad’s middle name, which is his Pa’s first name.

What feeling did you feel when you experienced the photos for the first time?

We were so happy with the photos when we saw them for the first time. We were very impressed with Jade’s photography skills. We really felt like she made magic happen! The photos are absolutely beautiful.

How will you display your images?

We intend on getting some large prints to hang on the wall when our renovations are complete.

Would you recommend Jade Clarke Photography?

I would highly recommend Jade Clarke Photography!
