How do you choose between a studio or outdoor location for your maternity portrait experience?
If you are an expectant mama, you are probably trying to decide between outdoor or studio for the location of your maternity photos! When we plan for your session, we will talk about your vision and the style, vibe, and wardrobe choices you are after. We can then discuss the merits of each location option so that you are comfortable with your decision. I will then create your perfect maternity portrait experience, catered exactly to you and your growing family.
Typically, maternity portraits are done during your third trimester; around 32-36 weeks.
With outdoor maternity photos, you will get beautiful soft, natural light and breathtaking scenery. I will guide you through various poses and exploit opportunities for spontaneous moments to get those fantastic candid photos! I offer outdoor sessions at either sunrise or sunset during “golden hour”, when the light is warm and soft.
I have a number of great spots around Canberra that I use, or alternatively you can suggest a special location that you would prefer.
At my in-home studio in Duffy, I have everything you need to be pampered and comfortable for your in-studio maternity portraits! I will make sure you feel relaxed, knowing that all your needs will be taken care of during our shoot. The studio will be set to a comfortable temperature and personal amenities are readily available for you.
My in-home studio is equipped with everything for a light and airy indoor portrait session including various backdrops, lights and a gorgeous little lifestyle section which is designed to make use of soft natural light. I also have a comprehensive client wardrobe, which has a variety of dresses, children’s outfits and props available to compliment the images.
