At Jade Clarke Photography we are always looking to make sure we are proving the best possible experience. Capturing memories and creating beautiful artwork are the main goals of the process, but it is just as important that you have a relaxing and fun experience that enables you to connect with your loved ones!
I will work with you through every step of your journey: from the pre-consultation, right through to the delivery of your products after your session.

We can then schedule a phone call to discuss all the details of your photo session and answer any questions you might have. Each session is done either in the comfort of your own home, at my home studio or at an external location. I strive to make these sessions relaxed and stress-free; as I have four young kids of my own, I have learned to be very patient!
Once we’ve chatted and you’ve decided that I’m the photographer for you, we’ll choose a date for your session. I’ll then send you my questionnaire, which will help me to get to know you and tailor a session that’s perfect for your family, as no two sessions are the same. Once the time, place and type of session is finalised, you will receive your invoice and contract. Then it is simply a case of paying the session fee and signing the contract to reserve your date and start the countdown!
Leading up to your photoshoot is the best time to start thinking about how you would like to display your images. You will be invited to meet with me at my home studio so that we can get to know each other and discuss what you want to get out of the session. We will talk about details such as the location, scheduling and wardrobe options, and I will be able to answer any questions you may have. You will also get to see some of the premium quality products I have on display, so that you will have an appreciation of how they will look and feel in your home.
While the face to face catchup is great, if circumstances prevent you from visiting it’s not problem as we can discuss details over the phone.
Although not required, you are welcome to send me pictures of your wardrobe selection one to two weeks before the session. I will give you suggestions and make sure you are happy with your final selection to ensure that we will be able to capture the look we are aiming for during your session. Generally speaking, minimalist designs and neutral tones work best, so as to place the emphasis on you and your family members. As a bonus, the images are less likely to “date” if you keep things simple.
This is where all the magic happens! It is important for you and your family to relax, be yourselves and have fun as I guide you though the session. I find a mixture of posed traditional portraits along with some candid interactions is a great combo. Mixing it up helps to keep everyone relaxed, especially if you have young children as they have the opportunity to be themselves. I’ll try to keep it a very stress-free experience for everyone involved!
About two weeks after your portrait session, I will invite you back to my studio for your reveal and ordering appointment. We will view your photos on a slideshow first, then flip through each image individually and choose your favourites! From there, we can arrange for your artwork to be made and if you provide internal photos of your house, we can create room views to assist with your decision making. You’ll also be able to touch and feel all the products available to order such as albums, frames, portfolio boxes etc.
This appointment usually takes around 60 minutes, and it is ideal if both you and your significant other are present. I am all too aware that it is not always possible to find someone to look after your children, so if required I can set up a kids area to ensure that your focus can be on absorbing the results of your session and making important decisions that you will be happy with for years to come. If you are unable to travel to the studio, we can conduct the session via online viewing galleries.
The time to receive your gorgeous artwork will vary depending on the products ordered. As they are mostly hand-crafted, the products will normally be ready no later than six weeks after your order has been submitted. All products are delivered to my door first, so that I can check them for any faults or imperfections and ensure that the quality and colour accuracy are up to my standards. Once I’m happy with your delivery we can then arrange a day and time for you to collect your beautiful handcrafted artwork.
